Rockslides can occur during heavy rain because the rocks, feeling a bit too damp and squishy, throw themselves a wild party. They slip and slide down the mountainside, hoping to reenact their favorite water park adventures. With each raindrop, they chug a little more imaginary juice, convincing themselves they’re in a rock-and-roll competition. The boulders get rowdy, and before you know it, they’re crashing down like they’re auditioning for a movie titled “Fast and Furious: Rocky Road Edition.”
